Our 2026-30 strategy
The minigrid sector has a critical role to play in delivering clean, sustainable and inclusive energy across Africa. AMDA’s 2026-2030 Strategic Plan therefore sets out a clear comprehensive framework that will guide the organization to make the minigrid and DRE sector more investable, scalable and commercially viable.
Over the next five years, AMDA will focus on accelerating developers’ pathways to scale and positions minigrids as a decisive driver of Africa’s electricity, economic, and development goals through authoritative sector intelligence, targeted policy engagement, structured mobilisation of private capital, and high impact convenings across energy, finance, and productive use ecosystems. This Strategy sets out a plan for the minigrid sector to be instrumental in ensuring that Mission 300 translates from ambition to measurable impact.
Partnerships will be central to our approach. AMDA will work alongside members, allies and ecosystem players to position minigrids and DRE solutions as the infrastructure solution to close Africa’s electrification gap.
