National Coordinator – AMDA Kenya Chapter

Tom’s entails working with AMDA team to develop an influencer map and long-term advocacy plan for Kenya mini-grid sector, driving consensus building between mini-grid developers and working closely with the Government of Kenya and all relevant government agencies on sector policies and regulations while engaging with bilateral donors to provide the needed support to ensure transparency of grid expansion plans.


Tom brings to AMDA an industry experience spanning more than 25 years especially in the energy sector having previously worked with Daewoo International as Deputy General Manager (Business Development & Strategy – Eastern & Central Africa Region), Siemens Energy (Business Development Manager PG – East Africa) and Sterling & Wilson (Regional Manager – Eastern & Southern Africa) working with IPPs and public utilities across the region. Tom holds a B. Com and MBA from the University of Nairobi and has undertaken modular trainings in Key Account Management, CIM Pre-acquisition Excellence, Renewable Energy technologies and tools, Steam and Gasturbine technology.
