Energy Access Finance Advisor
Daniel is responsible for identifying of crowding in low cost debt investments into minigrid sector. This involves providing industry intelligence through sector research on issues around revenue models, tariff calculation methodologies, unit economics, and key risks as well as portfolio data tracking and analysis. He also provides support to initiatives involving donors developers, governments and other stakeholders around building a smart Results Based Financing (RBF) fund to scale-up mini-grids.
Previously, Daniel was an Investment Analyst at SunFunder, where he carried out financial due diligence on off-grid solar players and C&I developers in East and Southern Africa including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia and Mozambique. He holds a BSc. in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), a BSc. in Applied Accounting and Finance from Oxford Brookes University (OBU), UK and a CFA Level 1 qualification. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
